If you are ever in an accident, there are a few important things that you should do. First and foremost, if you or someone else is injured, call 911 immediately. It is also imperative to exchange information with the driver of the other car- including their name and contact information (phone number and address).
If your vehicle has been towed away from the scene of the accident by law enforcement officers, make sure to get their agency's phone number so that they can be notified about any injuries. Finally, if you have sustained property damage as a result of this accident (broken window for example), take pictures before anything is cleared up so that it can be repaired/replaced at minimal cost.
If you do not feel comfortable on your own, or if you're injured, a call to a personal injury attorney is probably in order. If you do decide to hire an attorney, make sure that the attorney is familiar with the laws of your state regarding accident claims.
