Why a Tire Pressure Light Might Go Off
Each tire that is installed on your vehicle comes equipped with a pressure sensor. If one or more tires are not properly inflated, the sensor will send an alert to the car’s onboard computer. After this happens, a warning light will appear on the dashboard letting you know about the problem.
There are many reasons why a tire might be improperly inflated. For instance, it may have lost air pressure simply because it sat in a cold garage overnight. It may also experience a slow leak after running over a tire or other sharp piece of debris on the road.
It is important to note that it is also dangerous to overinflate a tire. Tires that have too much air in them are at risk of popping or shredding with little or no warning. Ideally, you will remove the excess air pressure as soon as possible.
